Tapa Design "Dog Tag" Pendant by Thom - Koa Wood Type 1
This tapa-inspired (or "kapa" in Hawaiian) pendant reflects that of traditional Polynesia. Using a repeating geometric pattern, Polynesians often created and decorated tapa cloth. Made from tree bark, the tapa was primarily used for clothing before it was replaced with modern textiles, such as cotton and other fabrics. The engraved pendant features a variety of bold geometric shapes. The meticulous selection and placement of the two Koa (rare Hawaiian tree) pieces emphasizes the striking contrast of the stainless steel finish.
